Tutte quante, chi cchiù e chi meno, simmo abbituate a sentì ’o nnapulitano pe dinto â radio o pe dinto â televisione, comme pure pe dinto ê social networks comme Facebook.
Ma ’a maggior parte ’e chesta presenza mediàtica d’ ’o nnapulitano, si ce facite caso, tene sempe cchiù a che vedé cu ’e sentimente – l’arraggia, ’a malincunìa, l’ammore o ’a spenzieratezza – rispetto â razionalità e a l’arraggiunà.
’E ccanzone napulitane clàssiche o ’e piezze rap moderne, ’e ppoesìe, ’e ccommedie, ’e pparodìe, ’e bbarzellette, e pe fino ’e video pigliate ’e cose tràggiche o spassose ca paricchie mètteno ncoppa ê social networks, nun tèneno niente ca nun va.
L’ùnico probblema, però, è ca nun dimòstrano chell’ata parte d’ ’o nnapulitano, e cioè chella ca tene ’a forza e ’a dignità intellettuale ca ’a fanno èssere na lengua overamente.
Pe chesta raggione aggio penzato a na sfida, cu ’a speranza ca paricchie decìdeno ’e fa vedé comme pàrlano Napulitano; nu dialetto ca pe addiventà na lengua a tutte l’effette “s’adda fa sentì nu poco”. Anze, mo comme mo, e primma ca è troppo tarde, ’o nnapulitano se adda fa sentì quanto cchiù assaie è possìbbile.
Nun ce stà bisogno d’ ’e sottotìtole. Avit’ ’a sulamente pubblicà nu video addó parlate napulitano pe ammacaro nu minuto.
Nun ve scurdate ca l’obbiettivo nun è chillo ’e fa annammurà, arraggià o ’e rìdere a chi ve guarda e ve sente, ma d’ ’e ffa penzà a na cosa o a nu fatto ca ’ncapa a vuie è assaie importante.
Domanda: L’aggi’ ’a sapé a memoria o ’o pozzo pure dìcere o lèggere tanno pe tanno ’a coppa a nu foglio ’e carta? Comme vulite vuie.
E doppo ca avite pubblicato ’o video ncoppa a chesta pàggina Facebook lloco – Parla nu minuto Napulitano – nun ve scurdate d’annummenà (mettenno nu TAG stesso dinto ô post) a n’amico o a n’amica d’ ’a vosta ncoppa a Facebook ca accussì sarrà ’a pròssima perzona ca adda completà ’a sfida.
Me arraccumanno, facìteve sentì.

Speak Neapolitan for 1 Minute

To some extent, we are all used to hearing Neapolitan on the radio or on TV, as well as on social networks such as Facebook.
Though, on closer inspection, this media presence of the Neapolitan language is mostly related to human feelings – anger, nostalgia, romance or lightheartedness – as opposed to rationality and reasoning.
There is nothing wrong with classic Neapolitan tunes and modern rap songs being published on social networks. Nor is there any harm with poems, plays, parodies, jokes, or even tragic or fun videos being shared amongst users.
The only problem, however, is that these clips do not represent the other side of the Neapolitan language, the one endowed with the intellectual strength that make it a true language.
For this reason, I have thought about a challenge, in the hope that many will decide to demonstrate they are speakers of Neapolitan; a dialect that, in order to become a language in its own right, has to “speak up”. Indeed, given its current state, and before it is too late, Neapolitan must make itself heard as much as possible.
No need for any subtitles. All you have to do is publish a video where you speak Nepolitan for at least a minute.
And don’t forget: the aim is not to inspire feelings of love, anger or to cause any hilarity to your viewers and listeners. But rather to encourage them to think about something which you consider to be highly important.
You might wonder: do I need to know it by heart or can I just say it or even read it off a sheet of paper there and then? As you wish.
